This year’s ANCOLD conference in Cairns provided the most YP group impact and contribution seen at ANCOLD conferences to date. Erin Hughes (QLD YP state rep) & I had the opportunity to present about our ANCOLD Young Professional group including our National YP strategic plan, leadership team structure & recent activities. This is the first time our Young Professional Group has presented within a conference Plenary session and provided a great opportunity to showcase our young professional group to all members.
The ANCOLD YP group also had a designated booth area, another first, which showcased YP highlights over the previous year and recognised organisational member companies for contributions towards YP conference attendance and event sponsorship. The YP group thanks organisational members for their ongoing support of YP initiatives. The YP team also thanks delegates for submitting YP event mentoring programme expressions of interest and event ideas which the team is currently working through. The team was also lucky to have some local wildlife guests visit our booth which was a great surprise to delegates.
Our YP leadership team looks forward to the year ahead delivering on our strategic plan and sharing our Australian successes with our ICOLD YP colleagues. I encourage all ANCOLD YPs to sign up to our YP mailing list via the ANCOLD website and encourage YPs to get involved in their state YP events via contacting their YP state rep.
