2018 Thomson Reservoir Comprehensive Inspection
Melbourne Water (MW) hosted the five-yearly ANCOLD ‘Comprehensive’ dam safety inspection of Thomson Reservoir on 16-19 July 2018, followed by a half-day dam safety ‘desktop’ exercise on 20 July. The inspection was undertaken by four inspection teams (Structures, Embankments, M&E and Survey) lead by consultants AECOM, Glen Hobbs (Glen Hobbs and Assoc.) and Ken Ely (ex.MMBW Engineer) and attended by representatives from across the business. The four-day multi-disciplinary agenda and overall attendance by 34 people make it the largest (and most ‘comprehensive’) inspection of its type yet completed by Melbourne Water.
ANCOLD is an incorporated voluntary association of organisations and individual professionals with an interest in dams in Australia.
System maintenance will be performed on the servers that host the ANCOLD Digital Guidelines, on Saturday, December 21st @ 10:00 PM AEDT which will require the servers to reboot.
Total downtime during that event could be up to 4 hours and will commence sharply at 10 pm AEDT. During that time end users will not be able to view or access their secured content.
