On the 13th September the Tasmanian Young Professionals Organising Committee held a presentation and networking evening as a first for a number of years for the Southern state. The presentation on the Mossy Marsh Dam Upgrade was delivered by Oliver Giudici (Project Manager – Civil Assets) with support from Sean Gottschling (Civil and Dams Engineer) and offered a great insight into the recent works to upgrade the 1950s era homogenous clay embankment to modern design standards. The presentation was attended by over 20 Young Professionals representing a large cross section of the Tasmanian dams industry, with a further 35 dialling in to the session from around the Country. The audience was very engaged and there was an excellent Q&A session with plenty of curly questions for Oliver to answer at the end!

The group then migrated to the nearby Post Street Social for a meet and greet over a few drinks and nibbles and the smiles and flurry of conversation reflected the success of the evening.

Many thanks to Hydro Tasmania for hosting the event, the presenters for the great content, ANCOLD for the continued support for Young Professional Development and to everyone who took the time to attend and be a part of the growing YP contingent around the Country.
