ANCOLD Guidelines in digital format are protected by digital rights management (DRM) via a platform called Vitrium. DRM is the process of protecting digital assets to be securely distributed online. DRM software encrypts digital content and employs a series of settings and controls to control who has access to it. Each time you access a digital guideline there is a record of its usage.
Via this platform ANCOLD have enforced these DRM settings:
- Device limit – set to 5
- Dynamic watermark controls – dual level watermarks can identify the source of any guideline images that are found on the internet.
- Printing and copy controls – you cannot print or copy the digital guidelines
- Screen sharing/print controls – if there are attempts made to screen grab/screen share these are logged against the user and it is at ANCOLD’s discretion as to whether this breaches copyright policy and the user is banned from using the digital format.
- Offline access controls
All end users are subject to these terms when they sign up for a subscription or, for those end users that are part of an organisation’s Team, when their organisation grants them access as part of their Organisational subscription.
Once you have purchased your subscription through the shopping cart or your organisation has granted you access as part of their subscription, go to the dropdown under your name and click ‘Downloads’.
Here you will find a list of all current Guidelines. Click on a download link to access the web viewer page for the selected Guideline.
Once you have purchased your subscription through the shopping cart and your access tier has been set by us (this can take up to 24 business hours), go to the dropdown under your name and click ‘Downloads’.
In your Dashboard menu click on Team. Here you can see the employees that you have granted access as part of you membership. The instructions for adding employees to your Team can be found here.
You can grant Team members access to digital guidelines by clicking the button next to their name. This can be toggled on and off.
It’s imperative that you actively review your Team members to delete anyone that is not, or is no longer, an employee of your Organisation.
This is the easiest organisational subscription to manage as once you’ve paid for your subscription within 24 hours (business days) all the employees you’ve added to your Team will automatically have access to Digital Guidelines in their Downloads.
All the employees you’ve added to your Team will automatically have access to Digital Guidelines in their Downloads, therefore it’s imperative that you actively review your Team members to delete anyone that is not, or is no longer, an employee of your Organisation.
This is a general guide put together by the digital rights management platform we use, Vitrium, on how to use the web viewer including Page Viewing & Layout, Annotations and Search features.
Please be aware that ANCOLD digital guidelines don’t have access to all of the functionality mentioned in the guide, like printing and offline access. If the function isn’t showing as available in the ANCOLD web viewer then we have not adopted it.
We greatly value any user feedback or comments on the format and usability of ANCOLD Digital Guidelines.
