Historic Tailings Dam Drainage Upgrade

The Queensland Government, Department of Natural Resources Mines and Energy (DNRME) manages the care and maintenance of numerous abandoned mines throughout the state.

One of the sites within the portfolio is the Target Gully tailings dam, located within the small regional tin mining town of Irvinebank, QLD. The facility consists of two tiered cross-valley embankments, each 8-10 metres in height, constructed in the 1980s.
